Lawn care and commercial grass cutting
Pastoral are masters of the quintessential English striped lawn. We provide a comprehensive range of lawn maintenance services from mowing to specialist treatments including aeration, scarification and top dressing using the best equipment available. We operate British-made Allett cylinder mowers to create the finest striped lawns along with a full range of pedestrian and ride-on rotary mowers to match our customers' grass cutting needs including low-noise, battery-operated models for sensitive environments such as hotels, residential estates, retirement homes and schools. We have extensive experience of operating to the highest safety standards within the public realm including parks, heritage sites, village greens and hospitality venues.
Full spectrum grounds maintenance
PASTORAL can provide comprehensive, high specification grounds maintenance services tailored to the aspirations of individual customers at prices that are fair and competitive. We visit all potential customers in person to offer our extensive sector expertise and consult on the requirements of each individual site to create bespoke maintenance specifications and schedules that match our clients' needs and budgets. Pastoral has extensive commerical experience in providing grounds maintenance services to the public sector, heritage organistions, private residential estates, hotels and hospitality venues, schools, sports clubs, business parks, housing associations, visitor attractions and retail destinations. Our expertise is also available to domestic customers with large grounds and gardens.
Hedge cutting and trimming
Linear and level formal hedges frame well-groomed grounds and gardens. Our experts have years' of experience in all aspects of hedge care from clipping and cutting to planting new formal and informal hedging. We know when and how to cut the many different species of hedging plants to keep them looking their best. We also adhere to RSPB guidance not to cut during bird nesting season between March and October where approriate.
Box Tree Moth Caterpillar Control
Box Tree Moth Caterpillar can decimate vibrant and valuable box hedging in a matter of weeks. The distinctive green and black caterpillars feed on the foliage of Box (Buxus sempervirens) and can destroy historic plantings leaving an unsightly brown husk of twigs, webs and frass (droppings) that may never recover. The caterpillars which are active between March and October, have a voracious appetite and few natural predators. Left untreated, an infestation can be devastating and cost thousands of pounds to replace with new plants. Pastoral can prevent and treat infestations and has the requisite licence to use a special biological pesticide which does not harm other pollinators, pets or people.
